Laawaris is a 1981 Hindi-language drama film. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, and Rakhi. Rich prince Ranveer Singh (Amjad Khan) is in a secret relationship with famous singer Vidya (Rakhi). When Ranveer learns that Vidya is pregnant with his child, he leaves the relationship and walks away. The ruined Vidya gives birth to a child and dies, leaving the child to be looked after by an alcoholic named Gangu Ganpat (Shriram Lagoo). The boy grows up in a bad environment and is named Hira after a stray dog.
